Job Description

Our client is a financial services company seeking to recruit a Systems Administrator. The main purpose of this role is to support the IT Department in order to provide a reliable, resilient and secure service and associated infrastructure to end users throughout the Group and to third party clients. Key responsibilities will include: ? Acting as first point of contact for users faults/queries ? Maintenance of inventories of hardware and software ? Maintenance of equipment to a high level of serviceability ? Ensuring that adequate supplies of consumables are readily available ? Providing end-user training as well as researching problems and finding solutions ? Ensuring that back-ups of relevant data are conducted to an agreed schedule and timeframe ? Ensuring that secure backups of data are available ?off-site? in a secure location ? Monitoring systems to ensure that high levels of availability are maintained ? Keeping ?up-to-date? with new and potential developments in the IT arena ? Maintenance of the Group?s telephone switch/system ? Key-holder call-out for building/IT security ? Provision of support both remotely and by attendance to the Group?s satellite offices and for remote VPN clients ? Maintenance of the Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity site facilities The successful candidate will have: ? Relevant previous experience of providing IT support. ? Knowledge of some or all of the following - MS Active Directory, Windows 7 Workstation, Windows 2008/2012 Server, Network infrastructures, TCP/IP communications, SQL Server, VMWare and Citrix which are key requirements of this role.
