Job DescriptionOur client is an international bank seeking to recruit a Head of Compliance / Country Compliance Head. Overall role purpose: The Group Compliance function within the bank is the independent oversight on behalf of senior management of those core processes and related policies and procedures that seek to ensure the bank is in conformity with industry specific laws and regulations in letter and spirit, thereby maintaining the bank's reputation. This includes sanctions and client acceptance and anti-money laundering, duty of care and investor protection, the protection of clients against the position of the bank (e.g. personal account dealing, conflict of interests, Chinese walls) and core values and business principles (e.g. codes of conduct). The Country Compliance Head (CCH) is the lead compliance officer in the country. Pro-actively identifies, measures and assesses compliance risks in the country, and supports business management in taking ownership for compliance risks and mitigating these risks. Also co-ordinates and assists the Country Executive in the management of the bank’s relationship with regulators. Furthermore, manages the country compliance team. The CCH will act as MLRO and Data Protection Officer. The successful candidate will: • Act as the MLRO and Data Protection Officer for the Bank and have at least 5-10 year’s Compliance experience and has worked in a managerial role at a financial institution. • Relevant industry qualifications.
