Contract Assistant Manager – Banking Control, Guernsey
Job DescriptionOur client is a private bank seeking to recruit a Contract Assistant Manager - Banking Control (starting asap until 31st December 2015). Overall purpose of the role: To carry out the administrative and compliance functions with regard to the opening and subsequent assessments including risk reviews of clients? accounts, ensuring that the requirements of the GFSC Handbook of 15 December 2007 (as amended) are satisfactorily adhered to, as well as the Group?s policies and procedures. The main focus of the role is on the High Level Risk Reviews so the candidate must have previous experience in this type of work. Key responsibilities will include: Client Account Opening and Maintenance ? Support the Relationship Management teams across the business areas through the provision of advice and support, as required, to identify the specific account requirements for accurate and timely opening, and ongoing assessment, of personal and non-personal accounts. ? Be proficient in all aspects of account opening, to include expert knowledge of legal bodies, and ensure satisfactory compliance with the GFSC Handbook and Bank Policy and Departmental Procedures. ? Monitor the ongoing new customer set-up process to ensure the completed file includes the noting of all risks and warnings as appropriate, CRM, scanning and electronic filing of new documentation. ? Provide assistance and guidance to colleagues within the team as and when required. ? Monitor and review retrospective CDD when appropriate, identifying outstanding documentation and up-date current CDD within the Bank?s files and systems. ? Perform various Compliance reviews highlighting any issues and bringing them to the attention of the relevant Relationship manager or Head of Department as appropriate. ? Undertake such other specific duties or projects as may be agreed from time to time with the Senior Manager/Assistant Manager. The successful candidate: ? The main focus of the role is on the High Level Risk Reviews so the candidate must have previous experience in this type of work. ? The candidate must have strong knowledge of the GFSC Handbook and good knowledge of AML Laws. ? Good working knowledge of fraud identification/prevention methods. ? Excellent communication and personal organisation skills are also required.
