Compliance Assistant Guernsey
Job DescriptionOur client is a leading marine fiduciary specialist providing a range of services is seeking to recruit a Compliance Assistant. Overall role purpose: The primary role is to provide services and expertise in connection with compliance matters and reviewing files, especially those relating to 'managed' companies and 'sundry' insurance. Key responsibilities will include: ? Assisting with the maintenance of business registers, litigation and complaints lists ? Assisting with reporting to the Board and or senior management team on compliance matter ? Review managed companies in accordance with agreed policies and procedures ? Review risk assessments, ECDD and or CDD documentation for new and existing business/clients, report deficiencies (if any) and make suggestions for remedial action ? Provide advice on compliance matters, including fiduciary Regulations and the Handbook, local legislation relating to drug trafficking, money laundering, tax compliance (e.g. FATCA) and any company?s business ? Assist with identifying key regulatory changes that impact the business and clients ? Assist with preparing and delivering timely statutory reporting for all regulated entities and maintain statutory registers The successful candidate will have: ? Knowledge and understanding of bookkeeping and accounting practices. ? Knowledge and understanding of crew employment and related matters. ? Understanding of the principles and practices of fiduciary services practice as applied in a marine fiduciary environment. ? Understanding of tax issues and jurisdictions. ? Able to recognise and respond to risk situations and stays up to date with appropriate legislation and professional standards ? Knowledge and understanding of Guernsey AML/CFT regulations. ?
