Client Accountant Guernsey
Job DescriptionOur client is a leading independent provider of Trust, Fund, Real estate and corporate services seeking to recruit a Client Accountant. Key responsibilities will include: • Carry out the timely completion of financial statements for allocated portfolio of client entities adhering to jurisdictional requirements, tax deadlines and Group Risk directives. • Provide full support to Client Administrators and Bookkeepers where necessary on accounting issues and complex bookkeeping to include completion statements and rental statements. • Identify any potential risks as part of the accounts preparation process, highlighting these with the administration teams and compliance department as necessary. • Ensure the completeness and integrity of client ledgers through the timely and accurate review of all accounting transactions. • Record accurately all time spent with a focus on optimum fee recovery. • Provide support to the client accounting team.to ensure team objectives are met, to include ad-hoc projects and reporting such as FATCA and CRS. • Liaise professionally with third party intermediaries and clients when required. • Ensure that service standards and company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times. The successful candidate will have: • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of preparing accounts in a Trust business with a strong knowledge of Trust and Company accounting / bookkeeping. • Good understanding of Trust and Corporate structures. • Knowledge of statutory requirements for Trusts and Companies. • Basic knowledge of tax implications on Trust and Corporate structures. • Strong awareness of anti-money laundering, regulatory and other compliance legislation. • Working knowledge of the following systems: Outlook, Word, Excel and although not necessary experience of Jobstream would be advantageous.
