Job DescriptionAccounts Officer, Guernsey Our client is a fiduciary services company seeking to recruit an Accounts Officer. Responsibilities will include: Assisting the accounts manager with the day-to-day administration of accounts and bookkeeping for pensions, Trusts and companies, reporting to the accounts manager. In addition, the role requires a strong ethos in corporate governance fulfilling an internal audit function within the business and working with the pension teams in benefit calculation. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting in the supervision of trainee and junior accountants and assisting in the training of trainee accountants within the accounts department. Key responsibilities will include: • A diverse role requiring experience in trust and company accounts preparation, preferably to final accounts stage. • Knowledge of PCC and LP accounts an advantage, tax knowledge, Guernsey company tax computation and reserve statements, basic UK non-resident company and trust and estate returns. • Reporting internal audit points raised. • Pension knowledge and the understanding of tracking UK TRF an advantage. • Attention to detail and final review of accounts • Full and complete understanding of the basics of accounts to include the completion of accounts on excel through to trial balance. • Full and complete understanding of the basics of accounts to include the completion of accounts on Excel through to trial balance. • Assist with the development of in house systems. The successful candidate will have: • Knowledge of NAV accounting (ideal). • Qualified preferred but non-qualified with suitable experience considered. • CAT or AAT or similar.
